Wharton Global Investment Challenge

Fall Round: September 2020 - December 2020

What is this competition?

Teams are provided a client profile and are responsible to work as a team in order to reach the short and long term investment objectives of the client. Students, using the Wharton Investment Simulator (the tools with which the competition is acted upon), are given the opportunity to sell and buy stocks from a wide variety of equities from all around the world over a 10 week profile. Within this time span, teams are required to reform their strategies, analyze trends and information, and use the $100,000 virtual cash to strengthen the client’s portfolio. The teams consist of 4-7 high schoolers, with which each member must invest in a different sector of the economy. The number of members in the team correlates to the number of sectors the team invests the virtual cash in. Beginning in the end of September and ending in mid-December, this competition tests your ability to effectively create strategies and read the market.
